STATEN ISLAND DMV OFFICE MOVING TO NEW LOCATION
Office Houses DMV District Office and Traffic Violations Bureau
Commissioner David J. Swarts of the Department of Motor Vehicles today announced that the Staten Island DMV District Office and Traffic Violations Bureau (TVB) located at 141 East Service Road will be permanently closing on Friday, October 24, 2008. A new office will open on Monday, October 27 at 1775 South Avenue in the West Shore Shopping Plaza.
"The DMV strives to serve the motoring public of the New York Metropolitan Area in the most convenient and efficient manner possible," Commissioner Swarts said. "The new office incorporates proven design and layout to ensure the best possible service for our customers."
The new site, located between Burlington Coat Factory and Modell's in the plaza, features larger and distinct spaces for the DMV and TVB operations. The new office will continue to offer handicapped access and the Q-Matic numbering system, which enables staff to efficiently serve customers in comfort.
The current location, which is closing on Friday, October 24 at 4 p.m., will not provide written tests after 1 p.m. on that day. The Staten Island office hours are Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The office hours on Thursday's are 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
