CEREMONY MARKS RENOVATION OF WEST HAVERSTRAW DMV
Office Will Provide Better Service To Rockland County Residents

Commissioner Nancy A. Naples of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today joined State and local officials for a ceremony officially marking the renovation and expansion of the State DMV Office in West Haverstraw.  The new office will provide faster, more convenient service to Rockland County residents.

"The Department of Motor Vehicles continues to be a leader in making State government more convenient to everyone and today's grand opening reflects our continued commitment to provide the best possible service to the motoring public," Commissioner Naples said.  "The completion of this project advances Governor George E. Pataki's continuing goal of making government operations more efficient and cost effective for the people of New York."

The newly renovated office at 50 Samsondale Plaza opened its doors in August when DMV staff moved from an outdated facility next door.  The newly refurbished DMV office is designed to serve customers far more efficiently in a more comfortable setting. The Rockland County DMV office currently serves about 140,000 people each year.

The West Haverstraw office maintains the same services, number of employees and hours of operation (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday).
