DAVID A. PATERSON, GOVERNOR · DAVID J. SWARTS, COMMISSIONER
Commissioner David J. Swarts of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today joined state and local officials for a ceremony marking the grand opening of the new Syracuse District Office. The facility, which replaced the former Erie Boulevard location, will provide faster, more convenient service to the motoring public.
"It is a constant goal of the DMV to provide the most efficient service to its customers," Commissioner Swarts said. "This new state district office provides faster service by incorporating an efficient floor plan, free parking and is more convenient to local bus routes ensuring improved service for the people of Onondaga County."
The new District Office is located at 4671 Onondaga Boulevard in the Western Lights Plaza Shopping Center in Syracuse. The facility is less than three miles from the former office on 620 Erie Boulevard West.
The new facility provides the same vehicle registration and driver licensing services as the Erie Boulevard West location. The office has a new configuration that will better serve the public, has free parking for customers and is more convenient to local bus routes. The location also offers the convenience of the Western Lights Plaza with stores surrounding the new office.
The Syracuse office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
