NEWLY DESIGNED BUFFALO SABRES LICENSE PLATE NOW AVAILABLE
Old Logo Replaced With Official NHL Design
New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Acting Commissioner David J. Swarts today announced the availability of the newly designed Buffalo Sabres custom license plate for fans statewide. The logo on the custom plate is identical to the official NHL design on the Sabres' new uniforms.
"The new plate features the Sabres' updated and distinguished logo, which replaced the old black and red design," Acting Commissioner Swarts said. "While we have been offering the Sabres plate since 1993, we are hopeful the attractive new custom license plate will be popular with fans statewide."
The cost for the new style plate is identical to the previous version. For a standard plate, with letters and numbers issued by the DMV, the initial cost is $43, with an annual renewal fee of $25. Plates are available for passenger and commercial vehicles and can be personalized with the choice of two to six characters. For personalized plates the initial cost is $68, with an annual renewal fee of $50. All custom and personalized plate fees are in addition to the regular registration renewal fee.
The new plate can be ordered online through the DMV Internet Office at: nysdmv.com, by calling the Custom Plates Office at: 518-402-4838 or by visiting any DMV office. Motorists who currently have a set of Sabres plates and would like to switch to the new design can call the Custom Plates Office and order replacements for a cost of $18. Custom plates with the old logo are no longer available. More information, as well as the gallery of nearly 300 custom plates, is available on the DMV website. Disabled individuals who qualify for the International Symbol of Access must order through DMV's Custom Plates Office.
