I'm Dave Swarts, Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. May is "Motorcycle Awareness Month." Last year, New York State had nearly 300,000 registered motorcycles and 600,000 licensed motorcyclists, and they are increasing every year. We all know that traffic crashes are very dangerous and are often caused by driver inattention. This month and in the summer months, please watch for motorcycles.
