How to Renew Your Boat Registration On-line

To make sure you are eligible for this transaction, read the information on this page.

When you are ready to begin this transaction, use the "Go to Transaction" link at the bottom of the page.

1.  Determine if you are eligible:

Your boat must be eligible for renewal, the registration must be valid (not suspended or revoked) and the registration must expire within the next 60 days.

You cannot renew on-line if your address has changed. You must be able to receive mail delivered to the address on the DMV registration records for your boat. You cannot change your address during this transaction. You cannot request a change of address by e-mail.

Important information for NYS military personnel who return from active duty that is related to the war on terrorism or the military action in Iraq. (You need Adobe Acrobat Reader®.)

If you cannot renew your boat registration on-line, renew by mail. To renew by mail, use the renewal notice mailed to you by the DMV, or use form MV-82B (Boat Registration/Title Application). You can also renew at your local DMV office.
